ARDOTOOLS

Privacy

What this site collects, what it keeps, and what it sends anywhere else. The short answer is that nothing here asks who you are, and the files you put into a tool never leave the machine you are reading this on.

The short version

There is no account to create and no email to hand over. Every tool on this site does its work inside your browser, so the image, document, text or URL you give it is never transmitted to a server — not mine, not anyone's. There is no upload step because there is nothing to upload to.

The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no scripts, fonts or stylesheets from anyone else's domain. One small number is kept in your browser's local storage, and it is described below.

Last updated 21 September 2026. Questions: hello@ardotools.com.

What happens when you use a tool

  1. The page loads, and that is the last request

The tool's code arrives together with the page you asked for. Once it has, your browser has everything it needs and stops talking to the site.

  2. Your input never becomes a request

Typing, pasting or choosing a file hands it to code already running on your machine. Nothing is queued, buffered or posted. You can disconnect from the network after the page loads and the tools keep working.

  3. The result is made where you are

Downloads are assembled in the browser and handed straight to it. A file you save never existed anywhere but on your own disk.

What this site does not do

No cookies

Not for sessions, not for preferences, not for measurement. You will not see a consent banner here because there is nothing to consent to.

No analytics

No Google Analytics, no lightweight alternative, no tracking pixel, no heatmap, no session recorder. Page views are not counted per person.

No third-party requests

Fonts and libraries are copied into this domain and served from it. Your browser contacts ardotools.com and nothing else.

No profile

Nothing on this site assigns you an identifier, so there is no record to join up, sell, or hand to anyone who asks.

In detail

What is stored in my browser?
Exactly one entry, under the name ardo.featured. Its value is a single digit between 0 and 5. The home page rotates which tool it puts in the header, and that number remembers which one you saw last so the next visit shows a different one. It is not an identifier, it cannot be read by any other site, and it is never sent back here. Clearing your site data removes it, and a private window never keeps it in the first place.
Do you use cookies?
No. The site sets none, and because none are set there is nothing for a consent banner to ask about. If that ever changes, this page changes first — see Advertising below.
What can the host see?
The site is served through Cloudflare, and like any web host it receives what a browser sends in order to be given a page at all: your IP address, your user agent, the URL you asked for and the time you asked. That is how the request reaches you; it is not something this site adds. Cloudflare's dashboard shows me traffic in aggregate — how many requests arrived, roughly from where — and nothing that names a visitor. The code running on the server side is under a hundred lines and does two things: redirect old and mistyped URLs, and hand over files. It writes nothing down.
What happens to a file I open in a tool?
It stays on your device. Choosing a file in the favicon generator or the metadata cleaner hands it to JavaScript running in your tab, the same way opening it in an image viewer hands it to that program. It is read into memory, worked on, and dropped when you close the tab. Nothing about it is stored and nothing about it is sent.
Do you sell, share or transfer personal data?
No, and the honest reason is that there is none to sell. No data broker, no advertiser and no partner receives anything from this site, because this site does not collect anything to give them.
Advertising
There are no ads on this site today, and no advertising code is loaded. These tools are free and cost money to run, so advertising is something I may add. If I do, it will be disclosed here before it goes live — which provider, what it sets, and how to opt out — and visitors in the EEA and the UK will be asked for a choice first rather than after the fact. A promise on this page is worth nothing if it is updated the day after it stops being true.
Third-party names on this site
Several tools calculate fees charged by companies such as Stripe, PayPal and Etsy, and are named accordingly. ArdoTools is independent of all of them. No data is exchanged with any of those companies, and using a calculator here does not touch your account with them.
Children
These tools are made for people running small businesses and are not directed at children. No age is collected because no personal information is collected at all.
Your rights over your data
Rights of access, correction, deletion and portability all assume a copy of your data exists somewhere for me to act on. Here it does not, so there is nothing to produce, amend or erase. The only thing under this site's name on your machine is the single digit described above, and clearing your site data deletes it without asking anyone.
How will I know if this changes?
The date at the top of this page moves whenever the text does. Changes that affect what is collected — advertising above all — will be described plainly here and will take effect after this page is updated, not before.
Who is responsible for this?
Eduardo Dursi, who builds and runs ArdoTools on his own. Write to hello@ardotools.com with anything about this policy, including a correction to it. See the about page for what this project is and how it is built.
